1.2.2 Access Profiles, Connections, and Protocols

Access Profiles

An Access Profile is a custom configuration created by an administrator to determine how users connect to and interact with remote resources, such as applications, virtual machines, remote desktops, and files. It specifies the connection protocol, as well as the access and user experience parameters.

Connections

Represent the communication pathways established between the client device and the server to enable remote access. These connections are responsible for transmitting data, such as keyboard and mouse input, screen updates, and audio, between the client and the server.

Protocols

Thinfinity® Workspace relies on various communication protocols to facilitate remote access to applications and desktops. These protocols include RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) for accessing Windows-based desktops and applications, VNC/RFB for non-Windows systems or when cross-platform access is required, Thinfinity VNC - a Cybele proprietary screen-sharing protocol for faster and more secure remote access than traditional VNC solutions, Telnet/SSH for connecting to remote terminals and last but not least, HTTP/HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) to ensure remote resource delivery via a web browser.
