8.1 What is Cloud Manager

Cloud Manager is a Thinfinity® Workspace feature that enables administrators to centrally create and manage virtual desktop environments across multiple cloud and virtualization platforms, currently including Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle Cloud, Ionos Cloud, Hyper-V, VMware, and Proxmox. It supports full lifecycle operations—provisioning, starting, stopping, and allocating virtual machines (VMs)—through a unified interface.

Beyond managing existing cloud-hosted VMs, Cloud Manager also facilitates the creation of new virtual machines using predefined models or custom templates, offering a scalable and secure desktop experience for users on any device, from any location.

Note This chapter consists of a summary of the main characteristics of Cloud Manager. If you're looking for detailed steps on configuration and procedures, refer to the Cloud Manager Reference Manual, which complements this guide.
