4.5.2 Creating a Telnet/SSH Access Profile
The Telnet/SSH Access Pofile or connection uses the Telnet protocol to communicate with a remote terminal (network device or server) over a TCP/IP connection. It allows users to connect to embedded and legacy systems in a secure, consistent and user-friendly way across all connectivity modes.
Secure Shell (SSH) is a network protocol designed for secure remote access to command-line interfaces (CLIs) on Windows, Linux, and Mac systems. It leverages public-key cryptography and symmetric encryption, to ensure secure communication for tasks such as remote server management, file transfers, and console-based applications.
In Thinfinity Workspace, the Telnet/SSH method allows the user to choose whether or not to use the SSH secure alternative.
To create a Telnet/SSH Access Profile:
Select an Access Profile Type
In the first screen of the Access Profile Wizard select Terminal and click Next.

Configure the Access Profile
The wizard helps define the minimal parameters so that the connection to the final resource can function. Thinfinity Workspace assigns default values for the rest of the parameters of the connection. To customize these parameters, access the Settings menu of the Access Profile. For details, see Telnet/SSH Access Profile.

Commit the Changes
To implement the defined connection parameters, click Commit.
If you are defining only one profile, you can use Commit right after configuring all the desired parameters.
If you are defining several profiles or complex profile configurations, use Commit after you have everything in place.
