5.3.1 Remote Desktops

In Thinfinity® Workspace, remote desktops can be published by creating RDC (Remote Desktop Connection) Access Profiles. These allow users to access and control a remote computer over a network or the Internet. Using RDC, users can connect to a remote computer and interact with its desktop environment as if they were sitting in front of it, providing a convenient and efficient solution for remote work, support, and collaboration.

To create an RDC Access Profile and publish your remote desktop, follow these steps:

1

Launch the Access Profiles Wizard

Click on the New Profile button in the home page. Alternatively, click the New Profile button from the Access Profiles tab of the Settings menu.

2

Select an Access Profile Type

Select Desktop and click Next.

3

Choose the Desktop Connection Type

Select the RDC desktop connection, then click Next.

4

Set Up the Connection

Choose the desktop you want to publish:

  • This PC: This is the default selection and publishes the desktop of the current computer.

  • Another PC: Publishes the desktop of a different computer. In this case, you must also provide the target PC’s IP address and, optionally, a Broker Pool (depending on your deployment configuration).
