5.3.3 Desktop Sharing: Thinfinity VNC Access Profile

Thinfinity VNC is a proprietary screen-sharing protocol offering faster and more secure remote access than traditional VNC solutions. Optimized for web-based access, it allows users to connect to Windows, macOS, and Linux desktops or specific applications using only an HTML5-enabled browser—no need for plugins, add-ons, or client applications.

To create a Thinfinity VNC Access Profile and publish your remote desktop (Windows, macOS, or Linux) follow these steps:

1

Start the Access Profile Wizard

Click on the New Profile button in the dashboard home page or alternatively, click the +Add button from the Access Profiles tab of the Settings menu.

2

Select an Access Profile Type

Select Desktop and click Next.

3

Choose the Desktop Connection Type

Select the Thinfinity VNC desktop connection, then click Next.

4

Set up the Connection

Specify the Remote ID of the remote desktop you want to publish.

5

Set the Access Profile Credentials

6

Set Permissions

Disable the Allow Anonymous Access option and use the Add button to select the users and groups that will have access to the new Access Profile.

Note

7

8

Configure the Access Profile

The wizard guides you through the essential settings required for the connection to the target resource. Thinfinity Workspace automatically assigns default values for the remaining parameters. To customize these settings, open the Edit menu of the Access Profile from the three vertical dots as shown below.

9

Commit the Changes

Click Commit to apply the configured connection parameters.

  • If you are defining only one profile, you can use Commit right after configuring all the desired parameters.

  • If you are defining several profiles or complex profile configurations, use Commit after you have everything in place.
