Web Folder Access Profile

Web Folder Access Profile provides a secure, web-based interface for accessing shared or private drives. It uses the WebDAV (Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning) protocol and allows users to manage files remotely through a web browser. This eliminates the need for any client-side installation, making it a lightweight and seamless solution for file management across various platforms.

To access the Web Folder Access Profile settings, navigate to Configuration Manager>Access Profiles then click Add and select Web Folder. Alternatively, double click a Web Folder access profile from the list or select it and click Edit.

Option
Description

Name

The name of the access profile. Edit if applicable.

Virtual Path

By default, Thinfinity creates a unique URL address for the current connection. If you want to customize it, make sure your address is unique and web compatible and that it has the following format: http(s)://ThinfinityDomain:port/VirtualPath/. You can then create a web shortcut for this specific connection and bypass the Thinfinity® Workspace web interface.

Access Key

An automatically generated access key that is used to access this profile.

New Key

Change the Access Key to disable access through the current key and provide access through a new one.

Label(s)

Access profiles can be organized in groups that you can label with names and colors according to need. This field shows the labels (or groups) selected for the current profile. For details, see Label.

Select Label

Prompts you to select an existing Label for this specific profile.

Visible

By default, the access profile is visible, modify if needed.

Default profile

If checked, the Thinfinity Workspace home page will be skipped, and the user is connected directly to this profile.

It will open your new profile in a new tab of your browser.

Local server

This option is selected by default, and it indicates that the shared folder is located on the same machine where Thinfinity Workspace is installed.

Server URL

This field will only be available if Local server option is disabled, and you can use it to point to the server where the folder you wish to share is located.

Root Path

Specify the path of the folder you wish to share.

Use the authenticated credentials

Sets a Single sign-on schema. The credentials used to log in to Thinfinity Workspace will be used to log in automatically on the remote folder (desktop).

Ask for new credentials

Prompts the user for new credentials to access the remote folder.

Use these credentials

If the credentials informed here are correct, this option will connect the user automatically to the remote folder on selecting the profile, or after authenticating in Thinfinity Workspace, if this is the only profile the user has.

For details on the options available in the RBAC tabs, see Access Control Settings.
