5.1.2.1.2 Key Features
Remote Authentication via Active Directory
As an active part of Directory Services, Remote AD channels authentication requests to the remote domain controller. The Remote AD service —installed inside the target domain— relays authentication requests, maintaining domain boundaries while granting users access to Thinfinity Workspace.
Working with Remote Users
Remote AD allows Thinfinity Workspace to treat users from a remote domain as members of the Thinfinity Workspace environment—without requiring mapping to local accounts.
Once Thinfinity Workspace has fully or partially integrated the remote Active Directory user and group structure, it can manage these accounts by applying both general permissions — such as access to administrative sections and extensions like Cloud Manager and Audit-Log— and permissions related to Access Profiles, including usage permissions and Resource Reservations workflow-specific roles, if needed.
