The Approver role is assigned to users responsible for reviewing and approving or rejecting booking requests made by Requesters. Approvers have the authority to manage reservations, ensure resource availability, and oversee that allocation aligns with organizational priorities or policies. This role serves as a control point to manage access and optimize resource usage across the environment.

The Requester role is assigned to users who are permitted to request or reserve resources, such as VMs, applications, or desktops. These users can submit booking requests based on availability but lack administrative permissions to modify resource settings or manage other users' reservations.

A user can be granted roles (Approver or Requester) using either Configuration Manager or the Web Manager.

Grant a user an Approver or Requester role using Configuration Manager

  1. Navigate to Access Profiles tab.

  2. To select the access profile for which you want to grant the Approver or Requester role: double-click on the access profile name or select it and click Edit.

  3. In the access profile editor window:

    1. If the access profile is part of a Label (group of access profiles) it will inherit the Label permissions. For details, see .

    2. De-select Inherit label access permissions option to customize the profile access permissions.

    3. Make sure to de-select Allow anonymous access.

    4. Click Add to add the user to the Group and user names list.

  4. Select the user and from the associated Permissions Group drop-down field select the Approver or the Requester role (permissions group) according to needs then click OK.

  5. Back to the Thinfinity Configuration Manager dialog window, make sure to click on Apply to implement the changes.

Grant a user Approver or Requester role using Web Manager
