The core settings for the Remote App access profile are grouped in the following tabs.

The General tab offers access to parameters related to the general configuration of the access profile such as credentials, type of resource and session limit among others.

Option
Description

Computer

Select the endpoint that this profile will connect to. It can be a physical computer or a virtual machine. Enter the internal IP or the computer name.

Connect to a Hyper-V Virtual Machine

Connect to a Virtual Desktop on an RDS Collection

Enable Wake-on-LAN (WoL)

Allows a computer to be turned on or awakened by a network message.

Default profile

If checked, the Thinfinity® Workspace will skip the home page and connect directly to this profile.

Open in new tab

If checked, the new profile will open in a new tab of your browser.

Broker Pool

Allows the selection of a broker pool for this profile.

Session Limit

Sets up a session time limit for this profile.

Use the authenticated credentials

Sets a Single sign-on schema. The credentials used to log in to Thinfinity Workspace will be used to log in automatically on the remote folder (desktop).

Ask for new credentials

Prompts the user for new credentials to access the remote desktop.

Use these credentials

Allows the admin to define specific credentials for the current access profile.

When selecting the RDS Web Feed option the General tab offers the following options.

Description

RD Web URL

Enter the web address used to access to the Remote Desktop Web Access (RD Web Access) If you’re integrating Thinfinity Workspace with an RDS environment.

Use the authenticated

Sets a Single sign-on schema. The credentials used to log in to Thinfinity Workspace will be used to log in automatically on the remote folder (desktop).

Ask for credentials

Prompts the user for new credentials to access the remote desktop.

Allows the admin to define specific credentials for the current access profile.

Execute as RemoteApp option: The RemoteApp is a feature that allows Windows based application publishing. You can connect to an application using RemoteApp through Thinfinity® Workspace by selecting the Execute as RemoteApp on the Program tab. Note that this feature is only available within Windows Server versions.

When selecting Execute as RemoteApp, the following options become available:

Option
Description

Program path and file name

Application published name or the direct path to the application file.

Arguments

Applications arguments.

Start in the following folder

Specify a context directory for the program set on the field Program or file.

Show Windows Login and Logout Screen

Toggles the visibility of the Windows login and logout screens, which are shown during connection to a desktop or a remote application and show, for example, the username that's being logging in or out.

Use Virtual Desktops

Show Taskbar

This option is selected by default and shows the remote connection task bar in the upper part of the screen. De-select the option to hide the task bar.

Check this option to connect to a Hyper-V Virtual Machine through its machine ID or GUID. To learn how to do that, see . Use a regular profile set up to connect a Virtual Machine through an IP address or a computer name.
