Thinfinity® Workspace provides users with three distinct methods to establish secure connections to remote applications: Windows Remote App, Remote Intranet Web-App, VirtualUI App. Below is an overview of each method and guidance on when to use them.

Windows Remote App

Provides cross-platform remote access technology, enabling secure delivery of Windows applications directly to any device via a web browser. Thinfinity Workspace approach enhances security through a proprietary Reverse Gateway architecture. This architecture, combined with ZTNA principles, ensures that all connections are outbound, fully authenticated, and encrypted—providing a secure, scalable solution for application virtualization.

Key Features:

  • Access to isolated applications: Enables users to access specific applications hosted on a remote server without needing a full desktop. RemoteApp runs applications on the server but appears as if they are installed locally on the user’s device.

  • Cross-Platform Compatibility: Users can access applications from any compatible device (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, or modern web browsers).

  • Advanced Security: Supports role-based access control (RBAC), Active Directory integration, and Single Sign-On (SSO) options. Enables user or group restrictions to limit access to certain applications.

  • Scalability: Ideal for corporate environments that need to scale from a few users to thousands of simultaneous connections.

  • Compatibility with Advanced Protocols: Supports protocols like RDP to ensure optimal performance and low latency for published applications.

Remote Intranet Web-App

Enables users to access intranet web applications through Thinfinity Workspace. This connection type uses —a proprietary technology—which is designed to integrate intranet web applications into the remote workspace environment, providing a seamless and secure experience.

Key Features:

  • Secure access to protected networks: Enables secure access to intranet web applications that are not available to the internet, or even in protected networks like OT Networks, no requiring firewall exceptions.

  • No VPN required: Allows remote access to intranet web applications without VPNs minimizing complexities and inherent risks.

  • Security: Unlike traditional VPN setups, the Web Application Gateway eliminates the need for client-side software installations, thereby enhancing user accessibility and maintaining a high level of security.

VirtualUI App

Thinfinity® VirtualUI is a software solution that enables developers to add user interface web remoting to their Windows applications. Typically, by adding one line of code to the application's project, you can transform your Windows Application into a cross-platform one, enabling it to run as usual on Windows or as a Web application when installed under a Thinfinity VirtualUI Server environment.

Key Features:

  • It enables you to create dual-platform Windows/HTML5 Apps.

  • It expands applications availability by delivering them instantly to users anywhere on any device.

It drastically reduces the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), by slashing IT costs and simplifying administration avoiding costly virtualization/remoting solutions.
