Thinfinity® Workspace includes the necessary components to create highly demanded resource pools with load balancing for high availability, allowing for optimized resource usage.
The pool of Terminal Servers consists of Secondary Brokers that manage the resources attached to the servers and ensures load balancing among them.
The Gateway serves as the entry point for users accessing a domain deployed by the Primary Broker. It handles user authentication requests and redirects them to the resource pool.
The Secondary Broker processes these requests and connects users to an available resource. It evaluates the load of each Terminal Server within the pool and redirects users to the least busy server, preventing overloads. This ensures consistent performance for all users.
Administrators can add or remove Terminal Servers from the pool according to demand. For example, during peak usage, more servers can be added; when the load decreases, some servers can be deactivated to reduce costs.
If a Terminal Server fails, connected users are automatically redirected to another available server within the pool. This minimizes downtime and keeps the service running smoothly.
This type of architecture is used when there is a need to provide a specific and identical resource to all users. It saves time during resource configuration, as it is done only once and then automatically replicated as many times as needed. This ensures high resource optimization and efficient network load management, where resources can be enabled or disabled based on demand, reducing operational costs.
